Places To Visit In Japan - Where Should You Go?

There are so many wonderful places to visit in Japan. You should start exploring some of these now if you love to travel and just experience the best of what life has to offer. Japan is a top spot for anything from shopping to skiing because it has something for every kind of vacationer. If you’re visiting for the first time, you might want to go to one of these five top destinations.

Nagano

For people who just can’t get enough of snow activities, Hokkaido is actually the best place in Japan to go to. One disadvantage to it though is that it can get pretty crowded during peak seasons. If you’re looking for more space on the slopes, then a better option would be Nagano. Even during peak months, there’s still more leg room here than in Hokkaido. You will love the fine powder in Nagano, not to mention the less expensive resort and meal rates.

You might also want to visit Japan on a working holiday visa. In this case, the best choice would truly be Nagano. You get to save a lot here because accommodations, meals and ski passes are free for foreign staff.

Kyoto

If you are a culture and history buff, there is no better place to head to than Kyoto. It has some of the best preserved historical feudal spots in the country because it escaped the widespread destruction that happened during the Second World War. It is home to 17 UNESCO world heritage sites such as the Kozan-ji, Kinkaku-ji, Ninna-ji and Tenryu-ji temples. You probably need to set aside a couple of days to complete a tour of these 17 sites.

Okinawa

The places to visit in Japan aren’t restricted to winter resorts and cultural sites. There are also summer destinations that can blow your mind away. One of them is Osaka where even the winter months aren’t cold. It enjoys a sub tropical climate that makes beach bumming an excellent hobby. There are stretches of sand to sunbather on or clear waters to dive into. If the Caribbean or Hawaii get too crowded, Okinawa is a good alternative.

Tokyo

You should never miss out on Tokyo because it has the best of everything. This is the melting pot where both modern influences and cultural heritage fuse into a strong but enchanting mix. This is where you can shop until you drop or dine in world class establishments after visiting culturally rich places like the Imperial Palace and the Asakusa Kannon Temple.

Osaka

If you don’t like the idea of diving into the hustle and bustle of Tokyo, you might want to go to Osaka instead. This is actually the third largest city in the country and a great place for Japan jobs for foreigners, but the atmosphere here is less hurried than in the capital city. The place also has a strong historical and cultural flavor that you can sample in places like the Sumiyoshi Shrine and the Osaka Castle.

Obviously, there are so many fantastic places to visit in Japan. The five listed above however are among the very best. Visit one or two of these places and you’ll get a clear sample of the very best of Japan. There is no way you’ll get bored here.
