I can clearly recount my first mountain bike race. When I arrived, and was just about to get dressed into my race outfit, I suddenly noticed that I had not packed my clothes! Well not exactly. However, the reason I remembered them is that I had made a checklist of every thing I would should need.I decided to put this list online, as I do not want you to forget a thing.

You should print this out and put it by your bike gear so you can check everything off asit goes in your car. If you are gearing up for your first race, or your fifty-first, better safe than sorry.

CHECKLIST, including your mountain bike.

• energy gel or bar
• Water bottle (filled)
• Bike lock
• Towel and baby wipes
• CamelBak or Seat bag- (containg; spare tube, tire levers, mini-pump, mini-tool, patch kit)
• Helmet
• Registration form and/or license
• Money
• shoes with cleats, and socks
• Sunglasses
• camera or Camcorder
• jersey, shorts and gloves
• Light (for 24 hour races)
• Post-race food and water
• First-aid kit
